Objectives:
The European Faculty of Islamic Studies offers three years of Islamic Studies adapted to a European context. After completing the course, a student will be qualified to play a role as an Islamic educator/leader. A student should also be able to continue his studies in a university if he wishes to do so (for example, in the fields of Theology, Arabic, or Oriental studies).
Eligibility:
Must have evidence of secondary education Must show proficiency in Arabic Exams:
The examinations are carried out in the form of: Exams throughout the year (oral/written exams) Mid-term examinations in mid-January Final exams in June Examination resits in September (for those who are unable to attend or fail one or more subject exams in June) Details:
The following subjects are taught (in Arabic):
1st year: Recitation of The Holy Quran (with Tajweed) Science of the Quran ('Uloom Al Quran) 3rd year: Recitation of the Qur'an 3 (with Tajweed in the narration of Imam Warsh) Exegeses of the Quran by subject(Tafseer Mawdu'i) Ahadith used in Law (Ahadeeth al-Ahkaam) Muslim Law 3 (Fiqh of Legal Transactions/Mu'amalaat) Judicial system and arbitration (Qada and Hukm) Rules of Jurisprudence (Fiqh) Purposes of Muslim law (Maqasid al- Shariah) Fundamentals of Islamic law 3-4 Fatwas and Contemporary Issues Court (Qadaya Fiqhiyya Mu'asirah) Legal Policy and International Relations in Islam Western and Contemporary Civilization Psychology Communication Techniques Arabic Language Constitutional Law *Also a research paper is due at the end of the 3rd year.
